ABBOTTABAD– The supply of chicken, that is sent from Sargodha to Abbottabad was found to be infected by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority. Around 800 chickens were said to be seized by the authorities, and were destroyed to ensure safety.
Assistant Director, KPFA, Mr. Adeel and Official of Livestock Department, Dr. Abrar Hussain confirmed this news and assured the destruction of the entire flock.
Dr. Abrar strictly advised the citizens to purchase chicken from clean and guaranteed poultry shops, and make sure to get the chicken slaughtered in their presence. He also directed to avoid excessive consumption of chicken meat.
These officials further mentioned that strict action would be taken against farm houses and poultry sellers, who are involved in providing infected, unhygienic chicken meat to people and using poor quality feed for their chicks.
