LAHORE: On the direction of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Governor Balighur Rehman has promulgated the Punjab Agricultural Marketing Regulatory Authority Amendment Ordinance 2023 for the third time.
After the expiry of its 90-day affectivity period, the previous ordinance was repealed in December 2023.
The ECP had declared the ordinance’s re-promulgation a must for the termination of the services of all the institutions’ heads appointed on a political basis on the Punjab cabinet’s recommendation.
Under the re-promulgated ordinance, all politically appointed agricultural market committees’ heads will stand removed.
