KARACHI: Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh, President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has appreciated the government’s decision to grant industry status to warehouses and logistics.
Saying the recognition has long been demanded by the business and industrial community, in a statement, Sheikh commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s efforts to create an enabling business environment.
He said the initiatives taken by PM Sharif have set the country on a path to economic progress and prosperity, which is crucial during this period of inflation and high business costs.
Acknowledging the government’s commitment to resolving the issues faced by the business community, Sheikh expressed hope that other critical concerns, particularly energy tariffs, would also receive special attention.
He also called for relief in the form of reduced electricity and gas tariffs, which would promote industrialization, reduce inflation, and boost exports.
