RAWALPINDI: A one-day workshop on primary stem cell culture was held recently by the Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences, in collaboration with ORIC-PMAS-AAUR and UPSIGN-UK, to provide participants with foundational knowledge and practical skills in stem cell research.
Led by Prof. Dr. Arfan Yousaf, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the workshop featured lectures by faculty members, including Dr. Mansur Abdullah, Dr. Muhammad Moaeen-ud-din, Dr. Aayesha Riaz, Dr. Evelyn Saba, and Dr. Usman Rashid.
The workshop covered topics, including the origin of stem cells, essential laboratory equipment for cell culture, and molecular biology techniques.
Participants gained hands-on experience in a specialised stem cell culture lab, fostering a dynamic learning environment that encouraged collaboration and interaction.
The event was covered by the AVSF media team under the leadership of Dr. Aayesha Riaz, with support from Mr. Muhammad Hassan, Miss Tabeer Fatima, and Mr. Shahzain Naz Tanoli.
