KARACHI: In a joint operation by the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), a huge stock of the banned Boston injection, used to boost milk production in cattle, was seized from a medical store in Karachi’s Malir district.
The operation was conducted following a tip-off, leading authorities to a substantial supply of the prohibited imported injection, which poses serious health risks to cattle.
DRAP officials confirmed that the government has banned the use of Boston injection, manufactured by LG Chem in Korea, as it is not registered with the authority. However, some farmers reportedly continue to use it to increase milk yield.
Legal action has been initiated against the medical store owners under the DRAP Act. -PR
