LONDON: Noble Foods has appointed Mr. Barney Kay as the company’s new agriculture director, from July 1, reinforcing the company’s commitment to advancing sustainable and ethical farming practices in the UK.
Barney Kay previously served as managing director of agriculture at Pilgrim’s UK, where he oversaw one of the nation’s largest pig farming operations with exceptional results. His career also includes leadership roles in retail, having been Head of Agriculture at both Sainsbury’s and Tesco, where he built strong relationships across the agricultural supply chain.
In his new capacity at Noble Foods, Barney will oversee a network of over 200 dedicated producers and a team of Regional Performance Managers. He will also lead the development of Noble Foods’ agricultural sustainability strategy, focusing on enhancing support for producers while advancing environmental stewardship.
Reflecting on his appointment, Barney Kay remarked, “Having begun my career as a farmer, I hope to bring an honest, practical understanding of the agricultural supply chain to the role. This is an exciting time for Noble Foods, and I look forward to contributing to its continued success in supporting producers and promoting sustainability.”
