LAHORE: The Center for Emergency & Medical Services (CEMS) of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore in collaboration with Character Building Society UVAS and Foundation for Young Researchers in support of National Accountability Bureau & Anti-Narcotics Force organised a workshop and walk on “Drug Addiction and Counseling Skills”.
A walk was organized to create awareness among people about the drug addiction and its adverse effects on individuals and people even families related to them and over all society.
Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Masood Rabbani led the walk while UVAS Senior Tutor Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf and a number of students and faculty members participated.
In which guest speakers from public & private organizations delivered lectures on various topics including Senior Vice President Dr Imran Sajjad from Foundation for Young Researchers lecture on physiology of drug addiction, Chairman Phoenix Research Organization Dr Noor Zaman lecture on drug addiction treatment, Cooperate Liaison Manager Remington Pharmaceuticals Farrukh Attah Shiekh lecture on pharmacist’s role in addiction therapy and Chairman Foundation for Young Researchers Dr Irfan Bashir delivered a lecture on special considerations when involving families in drug addiction treatment etc.
Later Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the concluding session of the workshops and distributed certificates and shields among the participants and guest speakers.
The workshop focuses on spreading knowledge on the effects of drugs and methods to prevent and treat with drug addiction patients and other special care that needs to be taken among drug addiction cases.
