Five MoUs signed in Beijing to strengthen Pakistan’s vocational training capacity, expand cooperation in EVs, agriculture, intelligent manufacturing, and infrastructure.
ISLAMABAD/BEIJING: Pakistan and China have taken a significant step forward in enhancing technical and vocational education, signing multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to strengthen collaboration in key sectors including electric vehicles (EVs), agriculture, intelligent manufacturing, and infrastructure.
The agreements were finalized during the China-Pakistan International TVET-Industrial Cooperation and Exchange Seminar held in Beijing, attended by more than 50 participants, including senior officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training and representatives of leading Chinese institutions.
The seminar, hosted by the China-Pakistan TVET-Industrial Centre of Excellence (CPTICE), marked a milestone in bilateral cooperation. Five Chinese universities officially joined CPTICE, namely:
- North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power
- Wuxi University of Technology
- Lanzhou Resources and Environment Voc-Tech University
- Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College
- Tianmen Vocational College
Additionally, five MoUs were signed with prestigious Chinese institutions, reinforcing cooperation in future-focused sectors such as EV technology, agriculture innovation, intelligent manufacturing systems, and infrastructure development.
The seminar also saw the expansion of the Pakistan-China International Industrial-Academic Integration Alliance (CPIA), with 11 Chinese institutions becoming members. To further strengthen the initiative, eight experts were inducted into the CPIA expert bank in strategic domains such as pharmaceuticals, automotive engineering, and agricultural technology.
A Teacher Training Platform was also launched, designed to build Pakistan’s vocational training capacity by equipping local educators with cutting-edge expertise. This initiative is expected to benefit thousands of Pakistani youth by preparing them for modern industrial demands and creating opportunities for greater employment both domestically and internationally. According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, these initiatives reflect the shared commitment of both nations to empower Pakistan’s youth, strengthen technical collaboration, and build a stronger Pakistan-China partnership for the future.
