Dr Abdul Waheed Sahota, a renowned poultry scientist and researcher, who passed away on August 28, 2023, will be remembered for his contribution to research and development in the poultry sector.
His major contribution was his research on local (Desi) non-descriptive poultry and other avian species, aiming at their better growth and performance in terms of meat and egg production through genetic improvement.
Dr Sahota, who mentored a large number of students as their PhD supervisor at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences-UVAS, Lahore, will be remembered as a down to earth, humble and kind person who was ready to help anybody approaching him with any problem.
In his death, his family, colleagues and students lost a great guardian, mentor and researcher.
May Allah grant the departed soul higher ranks in Jannah and give strength and courage to his family to bear this irreparable loss, Ameen.
