ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain has directed chief secretaries of all the provinces to take necessary measures to stabilize retail prices of sugar across the country.
Presiding over the Sugar Advisory Board meeting to review the availability of sugar stocks and price trends, he said ex-mill prices of sugar have remained stable in recent months, says a press release.
The minister directed the provinces to strictly monitor retail sugar prices, saying that maintaining stable prices is the government’s primary responsibility.
He warned that any increase in sugar prices would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
