Training session on milking practices conducted at CVAS Jhang

LAHORE: Department of Animal Sciences, CVAS Jhang Campus in collaboration with  the Department of Dairy Technology organised a three days training session titled “Advanced Milking Practices and Learning Technologies of Pasteurized and Flavored Milk” recently under the Capacity Building of Dairy Farmers and Industry Stakeholders on Milk Value Chain”.
Progressive dairy farmers, potential dairy stakeholders and final year DVM students of Jhang Campus were the beneficiaries of this training. Punjab food authority, RCCIB and persons from Shakargaj Foods also participated and talked about different regulations and processing technologies of dairy industry.
Local dairy industry was also engaged for a visit,  to display their relevant equipment and products for demonstration to the participants. Participants also visited Sharif dairy processing unit (Anharr) near Chiniot and Shakargang Collection. 
While talking on the event, Prof Dr Fiaz Qamar appreciated the efforts of the organisers and said that  our doors are open for farmers to solve their issues. He also talked about ADP project of livestock professionals. A team of students launched the Nutrimax flavoued milk for campus students that will be available through vending machines at campus.
Worthy Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad (S.I.), in his concluding remarks stressed the participants now the ball is in their court, How they use these technologies to uplift their living standards and also appreciated the efforts of organizers and Dr Junaid to organise such events across Pakistan. Prof Dr Syed Ihtasham ul Haq sab Chairman, Dr Muhammad Zahid Farooq sab distributed the shields. Dr Muhammad Azam (Assistant Vice President ShakarGanj Food Products Limited) Malik Muzaffar Qadir ( Head of Public Facilitation Committee) District Pakpattan. Arslan Khan ( Food Analyst) Rakaposhi Flavors.
