ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) collected and disposed of over 1,000 tons of offal and remains of sacrificial animals from various parts of the city during Eid days and scientifically disposed of this waste in specially dug trenches.
According to a spokesman, on the first day of Eid-ul-Azha, the CDA received 82 complaints via its helpline and resolved 72 of them promptly.
He says the ongoing Eid-ul-Azha cleaning operation, overseen by the deputy commissioner, has been well-received by the public.
CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa has ordered the staff to ensure prompt resolution of all complaints, he adds.
The spokesman says the citizens have been provided with biodegradable bags at no cost by the CDA to dispose of animal waste, while facilities, including cold water and food, have been provided to the cleaning staff in the field, as ordered by CDA chairman and chief commissioner of Islamabad. -PR
