LAHORE: Punjab Livestock Minister Ibrahim Murad conducted a comprehensive inspection od various veterinary hospitals, the Livestock Complex, and the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital to evaluate their working and service delivery.
During the visit, Mr Murad personally evaluated the functionality of the vaccination centre, pet clinic, divisional vaccine store, laboratory, drug testing laboratory, divisional diagnostic laboratory, and SPCA offices.
The minister reviewed the available facilities for the prompt treatment and detection of cattle-related ailments, besides examining the records of outdoor cases and closely monitored the proceedings in the OPDs.
He was thoroughly briefed on the outdoor treatment services, laboratory provisions, cattle ultrasound services, and other diagnostic tests. While inspecting the premises, Mr Murad also assessed the plans for the enhancement of veterinary hospitals, emphasising the swift activation of the newly constructed drug testing livestock laboratory.
Mr Murad ensured the scrutiny of drug expiration dates and laboratory cases stored in the vaccine repository, while also reviewing the official records and challans managed by the SPCA.
Expressing contentment with the department’s performance in Faisalabad and the efforts of the veterinary officers and hospital staff, the minister lauded the facilities at the veterinary hospitals. He pledged to prioritise measures to address any deficiencies within the veterinary hospitals across all districts, with a commitment to enhancing the existing facilities in these centres.
He stated that other districts’ facilities would be upgraded to match the standard of model veterinary hospitals.
During his visit to the THQ hospital, Mr Murad interacted with patients, inquiring about their treatment-related issues and expressing satisfaction while reviewing the facilities being provided to them.
