HYDERABAD: An experimental wheat seed sowing project aimed at enhancing productivity and seed quality for farmers in Sindh was recently launched by the Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam, in partnership with United Bank Limited (UBL).
Part of a larger research initiative focused on developing improved cotton and wheat seed varieties, the project was inaugurated at Latif Farm, led by Dr. Inayatullah Rajper from SAU and Syed Arif Ali Shah from UBL.
Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Rajper said that SAU, in collaboration with UBL, has been working over the past two years on developing climate-resilient seed varieties to tackle seed quality challenges in Sindh. He stressed that this partnership is aimed at delivering certified seed varieties to farmers that promise higher yields and sustainability.
Mr Shah reiterated UBL’s dedication to supporting agriculture by enhancing seed quality and facilitating farmers’ access to high-yield, disease-resistant seeds for improved crop resilience.
The launch featured contributions from key project members, including SPDC Director Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Soomro, Project Convener Dr. Shahnawaz Marri, and other agricultural experts.
