KARACHI: Sources claim that due to a shortage of soybean meal, the prices of chicken and eggs are expected to rise exponentially in the near future.
According to media sources, the price of chicken is to rise to a whopping Rs 1000 per kilogram whereas the price of eggs shall be Rs 500 per dozen. This has been alleged to take place due to the shipments of soybean and canola, not being cleared at the seaport.
The poultry farms are being adversely affected due to this delay in the clearance of shipments, sources claim that negligence of the Federal Government is to account for this delay.
For this purpose, the Pakistan Poultry Association and All Pakistan Solvent Extractors’ Association (APSEA) protested at the Karachi Press Club recently. They demanded that the Federal Government take notice of this matter and immediately take the necessary steps to resolve it, and clear the soybean and canola seed shipments
