AVN Report
ISLAMABAD: In the initial quarter of the fiscal year 2023-2024, Pakistan’s exports of agro and food products have witnessed a substantial growth of 37.4 percent in comparison to the corresponding period of 2022-2023.
This commendable surge in exports can be attributed to remarkable increases in several key areas, including Sesame seed (up by 427 percent), Maize/corn (109 percent), Ethyl alcohol (559 percent), Meat (16 percent), Rice (14 percent), Fruits and Vegetables (11.8 percent), and Fish and Fish products (3 percent).
Mr. Zubair Motiwalla, the Chief Executive of TDAP, has expressed optimism, saying if this upward trend persists, the exports of agro and food products from Pakistan are likely to surpass the $7 billion mark in the fiscal year 2023-24.
