FAISALABAD: Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan, Vice Chancellor of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF), stressed the pivotal role of interfaith harmony in achieving national prosperity and spreading love and brotherhood within society.
During his address at the Christmas celebrations held at the UAF church in Shahbaz Town, Dr Iqrar highlighted the significance of unity among people of different faiths.
The event was attended by Christian religious scholars, including Bishop Dr Andrias Rahmat and Father Abid Tanveer, as well as other dignitaries such as UAF Treasurer Umar Saeed Qadri, PRP Principal Officer Dr Jalal Arif, Senior Tutor Dr Shoukat Ali, Hall Warden Dr Tayyib, Estate Officer Rana Shahzad, ECD officials Abdul Manan and Ikram, and others.
To celebrate Christmas, the colony was adorned with twinkling lights, stars, and traditional Christmas trees, creating a festive atmosphere.
UAF VC extended Christmas wishes to the Christian community and took part in the cake-cutting ceremony, besides inaugurating 20 new housing units on the campus designated for Christians.
Christian religious scholars praised the university for organising the ceremony and acknowledged the positive impact of such initiatives in promoting harmony among diverse religious communities. -PR
