Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain meets Moroccan Agriculture Minister Ahmed El Bouari in Rabat to expand collaboration in agricultural trade, livestock development, technical expertise and capacity building.
RABAT: Pakistan and Morocco have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in agriculture and food security, with both countries reaffirming their commitment to expanding collaboration in agricultural trade, livestock development, technical expertise and capacity building.
The understanding was reached during a meeting between Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain and Morocco’s Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari, held in Rabat on Monday.
The meeting took place in what officials described as a cordial and constructive atmosphere, reflecting the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Morocco.
During the discussions, the two ministers reviewed the current state of bilateral cooperation in agriculture and explored new opportunities to further strengthen collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
Key topics included enhancing agricultural trade, promoting livestock development, expanding institutional capacity building and facilitating the exchange of technical knowledge and expertise to support sustainable agricultural growth in both countries.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening cooperation and agreed to maintain close coordination to advance the agricultural partnership and strengthen food security initiatives.
As part of efforts to enhance high-level engagement, Rana Tanveer Hussain invited Ahmed El Bouari to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at his convenience.
The invitation was warmly welcomed by the Moroccan minister, with both leaders expressing confidence that continued ministerial exchanges would further strengthen bilateral ties and create new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation across the agriculture sector. The meeting underscores Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to expand international partnerships aimed at improving agricultural productivity, food security and knowledge sharing while fostering stronger economic and diplomatic relations with African nations.
